The Retail HRBP will play a pivotal role in shaping our people systems, strengthening store performance, and building a culture of ownership, agility, and customer obsession.
Role Overview
The Retail HRBP acts as the strategic HR partner for all retail stores, ensuring smooth people operations, building strong teams, driving performance, and enabling store productivity. This role requires a proactive problem solver who thrives in a high-growth, high-speed environment and can balance people empathy with business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Own the end-to-end hiring for all store roles (Sales Associates, Store Managers, Cluster Leads).
- Forecast store manpower needs based on expansion plans, attrition trends & productivity metrics.
- Reduce TAT & hire retail-ready talent through active sourcing, referrals & campus outreach.
2. Onboarding, Induction & People Readiness
Ensure seamless joining formalities, documentation & Day-1 readiness for all hires.Run monthly retail induction sessions aligned to Palmonas culture, product immersion & store SOPs.Conduct 30-60-90 day check-ins to strengthen new hire experience & early performance.3. Performance Management & Productivity
Drive OKR-aligned PMS across stores – ensuring 70% goal delivery & 30% behavioural assessments.Partner with store managers to track weekly KPIs : conversion, basket size, ATV, staff productivity.Identify low-performance patterns and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs).4. Employee Relations & Engagement
Act as the first point of contact for all retail HR concerns.Run monthly engagement activities within store budgets to boost morale & reduce attrition.Conduct regular store visits to understand ground realities, team pulse & customer experience.5. Learning & Development
Identify capability gaps (selling skills, grooming, product training, people management).Partner with Training Manager to schedule store trainings & track effectiveness.Upskill Store Managers on coaching, rostering, conflict management & customer experience.6. HR Operations, Policies & Compliance
Ensure 100% adherence to HR policies, code of conduct, attendance, leave & discipline.Manage store-level documentation, audits & statutory compliance (ESI, PF, Shops Act).Run monthly HR dashboards for attrition, stability index, hiring TAT & manpower cost.7. Attrition Management
Conduct exit interviews, RCA, trend analysis & action planning with cluster heads.Build preventive retention strategies for high-risk stores.Maintain quarterly attrition targets in line with company goals.8. Support Store Expansion
Partner with Business Development & Projects team for new store launches.Manage pre-opening manpower, training & opening-day readiness.Skills & Competencies
