The Opportunity

St Mary MacKillop School is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Officer to join our team.

Under the moderate direction of the Principal, the Finance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the school’s business and financial activities, including :

• Overseeing payroll processing, employee leave entitlements, and applying Enterprise Agreement provisionsPreparing end of year financial statements and assisting with audit processes.
• Administering the school’s fee billing, collection, and reconciliation processes.
• Processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, BAS and GST, and general ledger functions.
• Coordinating with the CESA Finance Team, School Board Finance Committee, and external stakeholders.
• Supporting compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and relevant policies.
• Managing the school’s budget and preparing financial reports to support planning and decision-making.
• Actively participating in school events, meetings, and contributing to the life of our community.

This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) , with some flexibility in how those hours are worked.

About you

You are a detail-oriented finance professional with a background in financial management and payroll operations. You bring :

Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance & screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia.
