Job Summary :
We are looking for a highly collaborative and detail-oriented Design Systems Engineer to build and maintain a scalable, consistent, and accessible design system across our digital products. Youll work at the intersection of design and engineeringtranslating visual language into reusable components and code, ensuring design consistency, improving development velocity, and elevating user experience.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about UI engineering, design tokens, accessibility, and system thinking.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain robust, reusable, and accessible UI components in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular)
- Collaborate with designers to convert Figma or Sketch components into well-documented, coded components
- Build and evolve the design system (tokens, components, patterns) to ensure consistency across products and platforms
- Document component usage, interaction guidelines, accessibility, and responsiveness
- Enforce coding standards, performance best practices, and accessibility (WCAG) compliance
- Work with product engineers to integrate design system components into application codebases
- Implement tooling to support versioning, publishing, and usage of the design system (e.g., Storybook, Chromatic, Bit.dev)
- Contribute to cross-functional discussions about system architecture, brand alignment, and UI innovation
- Advocate for design system adoption and educate teams on best practices
- Conduct audits to identify design inconsistencies or tech debt across the UI
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field or equivalent experience35+ years of experience in frontend development or UI engineeringDeep expertise in HTML, CSS (including preprocessors like SCSS), and JavaScript / TypeScriptExperience with component-based frontend frameworks, especially ReactFamiliarity with Figma and working within cross-functional design teamsExperience with design tokens, accessibility, responsive design, and themingProficiency in tools like Storybook, Git, and CI / CD pipelinesPreferred Qualifications :
Contributions to open-source design systems or internal component librariesKnowledge of headless CMS, static site generators, or JAMstack architectureUnderstanding of performance optimization for UI componentsFamiliarity with animation libraries (e.g., Framer Motion, GSAP)Experience building for design tokens systems (e.g., Style Dictionary)Key Competencies :
