Tarremah Steiner School is looking for experienced Teachers who are prepared to commit to the challenging and rewarding task of nurturing a primary class. These positions are starting in January 2026.
The successful applicants will be passionate and innovative educators, who relish being collaborative, artistic and flexible, fostering strong relationships which allows for individual and organisational growth. They will be appropriately qualified to teach Primary. Experience in Steiner Education and Pedagogy is highly desirable. They will have a genuine interest in education and an openness to balancing their own beliefs with Anthroposophy.
A desire to be reflective, learn more and grow as a teacher and as a human being is essential. We are committed to developing our Steiner pedagogy to nurture students’ imagination, creativity and skills for the future. Tarremah is a well-established, vibrant independent school situated fifteen minutes south of Hobart, near a beautiful nature reserve, beaches and Kunyani / Mt Wellington. The successful applicant would be expected to fully participate in the School’s collaborative leadership model, where each individual holds responsibility for their work, supported by an active College of Teachers, Faculty and School Executive.
Tarremah offers classes from Playgroup to Class 10 with around 300 students. Our location allows us to take advantage of Tasmania’s wilderness, world heritage areas, coastlines, and indigenous cultural sites. The city of Hobart offers a vibrant cultural life that rivals larger cities, while its smaller size makes more of this culture accessible to everyone.
