About the Role :
The Sales Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales development team to generate and qualify leads, build pipelines, and support the overall sales process.
This role focuses on creating new business opportunities by engaging potential clients, nurturing relationships, and driving consistent pipeline growth.
You will work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to align strategies and maximize revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Management :
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales development team to achieve individual and team targets.
- Develop training programs and continuous learning initiatives to improve team performance.
- Monitor KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
Lead Generation & Qualification :
Oversee the prospecting process, including cold calling, email campaigns, social selling, and networking.Ensure thorough qualification of leads before passing to the sales executives.Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation campaigns and align messaging.Pipeline Management :
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline with high-quality leads.Track and analyze pipeline metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve conversion rates.Report on team progress and pipeline status to senior management.Strategy & Process Improvement :
Develop and implement sales development strategies aligned with overall business goals.Optimize sales processes and tools for efficiency and effectiveness.Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.Cross-functional Collaboration :
Work closely with the sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure seamless handoff and follow-up.Provide feedback from prospects to help refine product offerings and marketing Bachelor's / master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.4-7 years of experience in sales development, inside sales, or business development.Proven experience managing and scaling a sales development team.Strong knowledge of CRM software (e.g, Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools.Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills.Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze metrics and drive improvements.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment(ref : iimjobs.com)
