Role Description

The Regional Sales Head – Uttar Pradesh will be responsible for driving business growth across the state by leading customer relationships with state utilities, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring achievement of revenue and market share goals. This role requires deep understanding of the power and utilities sector, strong government liaison skills, and the ability to lead sales execution for complex technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales and business development activities for Kimbal’s smart metering and grid solutions across Uttar Pradesh.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with state electricity boards, DISCOMs, and government stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies, annual plans, and tender participation roadmaps.
  • Identify new business opportunities through tenders, projects, and partnerships in the utility ecosystem.
  • Lead bid preparation, pricing inputs, and commercial negotiations in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Drive account management, ensuring timely project delivery, payment collection, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with technical, product, and operations teams to translate customer needs into viable solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, policy updates, and competitor activities to inform strategy and positioning.
  • Build and lead a regional sales team, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and customer focus.
  • Maintain strong C-level and senior stakeholder relationships within client organizations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, positioning the company as a strategic partner in digital metering and energy solutions.

  • Managing long and complex sales cycles with multiple government and technical stakeholders.
  • Navigating state-level regulatory and tender processes to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Balancing pricing pressures with profitability goals in a competitive utility market.
  • Ensuring cross-functional coordination for on-time bid submissions and project execution.
  • Building strong brand and relationship equity with utilities and decision-makers in the region.
  • Balancing profitable growth with operational delivery, ensuring SLAs are consistently met while expanding client relationships.
  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in sales, business development, or key account management in the power / utility or energy technology sector.
  • Proven track record of managing government clients, large-scale bids, and project-based sales.
  • Strong understanding of smart metering, AMI, or grid automation solutions will be an advantage.
  • Strong business acumen and customer orientation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and build influence in government ecosystems.
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability.
  • Leadership, team development, and stakeholder management.
