St Pius X is seeking a dedicated teacher\s who are passionate about teaching music and the performing arts to Primary School aged children and who are committed to providing a safe, supportive and nurturing classroom environment where all children feel valued.

About You

The successful applicant must hold a current South Australian Teacher’s Registration and have a passion for, and the ability to teach Music.

As part of the role you will be required to :

• Inspire a love of Music and Performing Arts with Primary School aged children.
• Coordinate and lead the School Choir.
• Support and lead the music and singing at whole school celebrations.
• Possess a willingness to support the Catholic ethos of St Pius X School.
• Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence with an ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Have a strong focus on wellbeing and the ability to nurture a positive classroom environment.
• Possess a love for working with children and other educators to drive excellence in Music and Performing Arts.

Qualifications and Training :

The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain :

South Australian Teacher Registration

RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care) Certificate

WWCC - Working with Children Check

First Aid Certificate.

Located approx. 15mins North East of the city in Windsor Gardens, St Pius X Catholic School has a strong sense of community and is committed to nurturing the whole child — spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.

St Pius X has had very strong and highly regarded music program for many years with all children being taught Music from Reception to Year 6. In addition to the regular music lessons taught by our specialist teacher, we also have approximately 200 of our students engage in private music tuition on the school site. We also have a very dynamic School Choir who participates yearly in the Catholic School’s Music Festival. We wish to continue building the tradition of musical excellence at St Pius X School and are open to expanding our music program to include a Performing Arts component.

We currently have a contract teacher who has expressed interest in sharing the role and therefore there is an opportunity for part time applications to be considered.
