Job description
  • Key Responsibilities :
  • Project Execution and Management :
  • Oversee the construction and execution of the Greenfield SMS project including EAF, LRF, CCM, and Submerged Arc Furnace.
  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of the project within the defined financial and time parameters.
  • Lead the planning, directing , and coordinating activities to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize technical specifications , manufacturing drawings , and plant layout .
  • Handle vendor evaluations and manage the finalization of contracts / work orders .
  • Plant Operations and Maintenance :
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of the plant after commissioning, ensuring maximum machine uptime and efficiency .
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive maintenance systems for trouble-free operations .
  • Coordinate plant activities to optimize resource utilization to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Prepare manuals and work instructions for the operation of the unit and maintain reports for decision-making.
  • Oversee the operation of Induction Furnaces, Ladle Refining Furnace, Continuous Casting, and Rolling Mills.
  • Commissioning and Erection :
  • Supervise the erection and commissioning of equipment including Thin Slab Caster , Radiography Units , Roll Grinding Systems , HVAC systems , and Roll Cooling Systems .
  • Coordinate and lead the testing of the equipment ensuring quality and efficiency .
  • Manage the installation of laminar cooling systems , coil conveyors , and other related equipment.
  • Vendor Development & Material Planning :
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships for timely procurement of quality project / process equipment and materials.
  • Ensure timely supply of maintenance spares and consumables to avoid production delays.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to maintain optimal cost efficiency .
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance :
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards in all aspects of the project, operations, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors , and internal teams to ensure the quality compliance of all equipment and processes.
  • Team Management :
  • Lead and motivate the project team, ensuring continuous on-job training to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive team spirit , ensuring the team remains committed to achieving goals and objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day project operations and provide leadership to maintain consistent progress.
  • Budgeting, Cost Control, and Reporting :
  • Review project progress , ensuring alignment with budget and cost controls .
  • Prepare regular project status reports and presentations for management.
  • Ensure the project is completed within the prescribed budgetary constraints .
  • Project Feasibility & Financing :
  • Contribute to the preparation of feasibility reports for project financing.
  • Secure statutory approvals required for the project's progress.
  • Manage the project's financial oversight , ensuring proper resource allocation and cost efficiency.
