Kochi Kochu is a contemporary luxury label rooted in South Asian craftsmanship and shaped by global perspectives.

We are building a new Indian house of slow fashion — where design, craft, and cultural storytelling come together to create modern heirlooms.

Our Jaipur studio brings together artisans, designers, and creative thinkers redefining what “Made in India” means for a global audience.

The Role

We’re looking for a strong, hands-on designer who understands both creativity and construction — someone who can think like an artist, execute like a technician, and collaborate like a builder.

You’ll work closely with our production team and artisans to develop silhouettes, embroidery, and prints that blend heritage and modernity — while also contributing to sourcing and material innovation.

Responsibilities

• Research and design new silhouettes aligned with Kochi Kochu’s aesthetic and storytelling.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fashion or textile design, with proven work on contemporary or luxury collections.
• Develop prints and surface artworks, including placement layouts, scale, and graphic design refinement.
• Create embroidery sheets for handwork teams with detailed references for stitches, beads, and color palettes.
• Prepare comprehensive tech packs with fabric details, construction notes, and embroidery / print specifications.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to source fabrics, trims, and materials across key Indian hubs (Jaipur, Delhi, Surat, Banaras, Kerala, etc.).
• Collaborate with pattern makers and the sampling team to ensure accuracy from sketch to final garment.
• Support creative direction for visual storytelling, campaigns, and lookbooks.
