Role Overview :
We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to lead strategic B2B partnerships with educational institutions for our student housing business. This role is ideal for professionals with strong institutional sales experience, particularly in the education or allied sectors, and a proven ability to build senior stakeholder relationships and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own regional BD targets and execute sales plans to acquire institutional partners, including colleges, universities, and training centers.
- Drive the full sales cycle : lead generation, cold outreach, pitching, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Engage with key decision-makers such as Chairmen, Vice Chancellors, and Deans to position Zolo as a preferred student accommodation partner.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with institutions for recurring or scaled partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts, close deals, and ensure seamless handover to operations for execution.
- Maintain detailed funnel tracking and ensure consistent pipeline hygiene and conversion.
- Travel extensively within the assigned region (up to 10-15 days / month) for on-ground relationship building.
- Report progress and key insights to the BU Head and collaborate cross-functionally with operations and marketing teams.
Skills & Qualifications :
Proven experience in B2B sales or business development with institutional clients, preferably in the education or allied sectors.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior leaders.Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and drive territory-level sales targets.Comfortable with frequent travel within the region.Strong analytical skills to manage pipeline and forecast revenue.(ref : iimjobs.com)
