Roles & Responsibilities- Lead – Mechanical Design Engineer

He / she shall be responsible for driving end-to-end product design and development(Product Owner) of consumer and industrial electronic products, from concept stage through to production release and market launch. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and leadership ability to guide a small team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Core Expertise : -

• Lead complete mechanical design and development lifecycle : concept design → prototyping → design validation → tooling → product launch.
• Translate customer / market requirements into innovative and manufacturable product designs.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks with full GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Perform design calculations, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis for robust product performance.
• Design products in plastics (injection moulding), sheet metal, die-casting, and machining.
• Drive material selection based on performance, regulatory compliance, and cost.
• Ensure manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping to validate form, fit, and function.
• Build and test prototypes to identify design gaps early in the cycle.
• Design products with proper thermal management (passive cooling, heatsinks, venting, etc.).
• Perform preliminary structural analysis, drop, and reliability considerations.
• Define and execute test protocols for functional verification.
