Our Nuclear Power division is a leading consultancy providing multi-disciplinary engineering support services to all project stages, from concept through to completion, to owners, operators, regulators and suppliers to a diversified set of clients. Within the Nuclear sector, we're involved across the whole life cycle of the civil nuclear industry, building the next generation of civil nuclear power stations and the first large scale prototype fusion reactor, meeting the challenge of keeping the current nuclear fleet operational and tackling complex decommissioning projects.
To meet the increasing demand of our expertise in the nuclear industry we have now multiple opportunities for Mechanical Engineers - HVAC with experience ranging from 5 - 8 years in Heating, Ventillation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) domain in engineering to join the nuclear team at our AtkinsRealis Bangalore office. (Within the industries such as Aerospace, Oil Gas, Petrochemical, Nuclear Power, Civil, Conventional Power and other related industries)
Responsibilities :
- Design, optioneering, analysis and assessment of HVAC and Mechanical Process systems.
- Preparation of HVAC sizing calculations in support of systems design.
- Preparation of PID / Flow scheme drawings
- Preparation of Ducting and Piping layout drawings
- Preparation of Plant room drawings
- Preparation of Technical specifications, Equipment list and Bill of materials
- Knowledge of ventilation and air conditioning systems and a successful track record of delivering detailed designs to the highest international standards.
- Understand the client requirements and deliver the cost effective and innovative solutions.
- Take lead on the projects and coordinating the team and mentoring others.
- Liaising with all the stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of various building services design codes such as ASHRAE, SMACNA and International Standards.
Requirements :
Suitable degree in Mechanical engineering (ME / BE, M.Tech / B.Tech or equivalent)Experience in Nuclear, Power, Oil Gas or other highly regulated industrial environment preferred.Identify, produce and supervise production of appropriate analyses and calculations to demonstrate acceptable performance or highlight design issues. Support the QA process through review and approval of colleagues workFamiliar with international design codes and standardsAbility to understand and define client s requirements, plan schedule deliverables, timelines.Strong delivery culture, ability to multi-task, resource management, delegate tasks, develop and deliver cost / time-effective solutions.Chartered engineer or In the process of getting chartership accreditation from professional institutions.Experience in the design, commissioning or review of large scale, industrial Heating, Ventilation, andAir Conditioning (HVAC) systems (e.g., for nuclear or industry applications).In the absence of direct HVAC experience, you have an in-depth knowledge of comparable component parts (heat exchangers, compressors, chillers, blowers, Air handling units).Strong technical background, with the ability to design HVAC systems using relevant UK and international codes / standards.An appropriate level of relevant industrial experience- in the absence of power or nuclear industry specific experience, we would require experience of work associated with a highly regulated industry (e.g. Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Water).Experience of thermal modelling software (preferably IES Virtual Environment), HAP, BIM and coordination of MEP services is desirable.Strong communication and people skills.An interest in the nuclear sector / market / clientsOther :
Direct, relevant nuclear sector experience.Experience of site-based operations, construction or commissioning.Review and acceptance of HVAC equipment - Chillers, Air handling units, Pumps and Fans (factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests).Professionally accredited or in the process of getting the accreditation with Professional bodies.You will also be expected to demonstrate the following qualities :
