Role Overview
- The Head of Retail & Monetisation at LoveLocal will lead the end-to-end strategy, growth, and execution of all retail and revenue-generating initiatives across the platform. This role is responsible for scaling LoveLocal's retail vendors network, building and expanding monetisation streams, strengthening brand partnerships, and ensuring consistent value delivery to our kirana partners.
- This position requires a strong blend of commercial acumen, retail expertise, operational depth, and strategic leadership. You will play a critical role in shaping LoveLocal's revenue roadmap and driving sustainable growth across the business.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Retail Strategy & Vendor Ecosystem Growth
Build and execute a scalable retail strategy focused on expanding LoveLocal's presence across markets.Drive retailer acquisition, onboarding, and activation across categories with a strong focus on kirana success and retention.Identify opportunities to strengthen the LoveLocal value proposition for retailers through new tools, features, and services.Ensure consistent excellence in retail operations, field execution, and merchant engagement.2. Monetisation & Revenue Leadership
Own the monetisation strategy across re services, brand partnerships, ad solutions, marketplace integrations, and new revenue models.Build revenue programs that enhance merchant profitability while creating commercial value for LoveLocal.Drive pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies for monetisation offerings.Deliver quarterly and annual revenue targets through structured planning and strong execution.3. Brand & Partner Monetisation
Build and strengthen partnerships with FMCG brands, distributors, and category players.Design and deliver customised retail programs, visibility solutions, sampling initiatives, and digital activation campaigns for partners.Negotiate large-scale commercial deals with brands and aggregator partners.Work closely with the Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to execute brand campaigns effectively at scale.4. Operational Excellence & Data-Driven Execution
Build robust processes for retail execution, compliance, and program delivery.Track performance metrics across retail and monetisation funnels, using data to drive intervention strategies.Introduce continuous improvement programs to increase efficiency, merchant satisfaction, and partner ROI.5. Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing retail and monetisation team across sales, partnerships, field operations, and account management.Establish performance metrics, review cadences, and coaching frameworks.Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and on-ground excellence.Key Requirements
8+ years of experience in Retail, Revenue, FMCG, B2B / B2C marketplace, or Monetisation leadership roles.Proven success in scaling retail operations or monetisation functions, preferably in a fast-moving consumer tech or retail-tech environment.Strong understanding of Kirana ecosystems, FMCG trade structures, and retail channel dynamics.Excellent commercial negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with dashboards, insights, and performance data.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with a bias for execution.Key KPIs :
