Head of Editorial Content, AD India

Architectural Digest (AD), the international design authority, is looking for an enthusiastic, full-time Head of Editorial Content to work with executive leadership to grow its business in the India. The ideal candidate should have a detailed understanding of the international and local market design industry, its major players, and its audience. This role touches every part of the organization—including editorial, video, social, audience development, e-commerce, membership subscriptions, events, sales, and marketing—with a central focus on identifying and overseeing content that drives the design industry conversation forward while creating opportunities for new consumer and advertiser revenue.

Responsibilities :

Develop and refine AD India’s editorial voice and presence, shaping its creative and editorial direction.

Define and implement strategic positioning and programming for all market platforms (print, digital, video, social, events, other), zeroing in on commercial and consumer revenue opportunities (subscriptions, memberships, e-commerce, experiential, and more), working with brand editorial and business leads. Work closely with the AD global network to align and execute the global vision locally.

Oversee a team of editors to develop the concepts, packaging, and execution for all content across all platforms, to reach KPIs and satisfy commercial and consumer revenue targets.

Directly manage a team of highly skilled editors, writers, and creatives, leading by example in inspiring, developing, motivating, and uniting the team.

Cultivate storytelling and champion internal talent to drive growth and engagement across all platforms.

With global editorial, consumer, and commercial leads, develop and execute global growth initiatives as an editorial partner in support of global revenue, member acquisition, and retention efforts.

With local and global audience development and social media teams, refine and implement growth strategies including engagement, audience-building tactics, and special initiatives in service of KPIs and other targets and goals.

Work closely with Operations to plan and manage editorial content budgets for print, and editorial content efficiencies for digital, video, and social. Collaborate effectively with Finance, People, and other business partners on annual budgets, brand P&L, and hiring / staffing plans.

Act as the key contact for AD India’s editorial team within the local market and as an in-market brand ambassador, hosting events, providing creative direction, and liaising with clients as required.

Requirements :

A minimum of 7 years of experience leading teams in digital, social, video, and print media or similar, and an entrepreneurial mindset focused on new opportunities and areas for growth.

Must have a passion for home decor and design, and a detailed understanding of the local and international design industry, its major players, and its audiences.

Creative and innovative thinker who will bring inventive new ideas to editorial development. Extremely strong editorial skills and experience assigning and editing multi-platform content and working to strict deadlines.

Proven leader with the ability to empower, mentor, and inspire a nimble editorial team.

Strong business acumen, networking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to guide a team toward achieving business goals.

Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, be well organized, and able to meet and help others meet deadlines.
