Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Strategy :
- Lead and manage the legal function across all projects and business verticals, ensuring all legal matters are handled efficiently.
- Advise senior management on legal risks, strategies, and compliance requirements across various business operations.
- Coordinate with project heads and senior leadership to ensure timely legal clearances and updates.
- Litigation Management :
- Supervise and handle all legal proceedings, including civil, criminal, consumer, RERA, arbitration, and labor court cases.
- Draft, review, and manage legal notices, replies, and represent the company through external counsels when necessary.
- Focus on dispute resolution and work towards reducing litigation exposure.
- Non-Litigation & Advisory :
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MoUs, joint ventures, lease agreements, sale deeds, and other business-critical documents.
- Oversee title due diligence, property acquisition documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance for land / real estate transactions.
- Advise on RERA regulations, stamp duties, registration, and other applicable real estate laws.
- Compliance & Regulatory :
- Ensure full compliance with RERA, local municipal laws, environmental laws, and other state / central laws.
- Regularly update legal documentation, contracts, and processes to align with changing regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government departments, and statutory bodies to maintain seamless operations.
- Risk Management :
- Identify legal risks related to new projects, land acquisitions, and partnerships, and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Provide legal risk assessments and strategic solutions for business and operational decisions.
- Team Management :
- Lead and guide the internal legal team and manage coordination with external counsels and consultants.
- Build legal awareness across all departments through proactive training and communication, fostering a culture of compliance and legal awareness.
Requirements : - Education :
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory; LLM (Masters in Law) is preferred.
- Experience :
- Minimum 10 years of experience handling legal matters within the real estate sector, including both litigation and advisory functions.
- Strong expertise in real estate laws, land acquisition, RERA, contracts, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
