Purpose of the Role :
The purpose of this position is to lead and manage the sales and growth of the Generic Products business within the hospital and institutional segments. The role emphasizes achieving sustainable business expansion through effective tender management, distributor collaboration, and strategic relationship building with key healthcare institutions and procurement agencies.
Key Responsibility Areas :
1. Sales & Tender Management
- Lead the overall tendering process — from identifying opportunities to preparing, submitting, and monitoring tenders for hospitals, government bodies, and procurement agencies.
- Maximize sales and market penetration by identifying new business opportunities and driving growth across product portfolios.
- Manage tender documentation, pricing, and negotiation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with timelines.
- Drive performance of existing tender contracts through active demand generation, ensuring consistent supply and fulfillment.
2. Key Account & Relationship Management
Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including CPO, HA, CHP, DH, private hospitals and medical groups.Strengthen partnerships with institutional clients to ensure business continuity and identify expansion opportunities.Maintain a proactive communication rhythm with key customers and procurement authorities.3. Distributor Management
Manage and develop distributor networks to ensure seamless execution of supply chain and commercial objectives.Evaluate distributor performance, ensuring alignment with company policies, sales targets, and compliance requirements.Onboard new distributors as needed and ensure smooth collaboration for tenders, pricing, and delivery coordination.4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Regulatory, SCM, Product Development, and Marketing to deliver customer-centric solutions.Align business goals with operational teams to ensure optimal product availability, pricing competitiveness, and compliance.5. Leadership & Team Development
Build and mentor a high-performing tender sales team, driving accountability and excellence.Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ensure the team meets or exceeds revenue and operational targets.6. Strategic & Market Development
Develop and execute annual sales strategies aligned with business goals and market opportunities.Stay informed on market dynamics, competitor activities, and government procurement policies to anticipate and act on emerging trends.Represent the company at relevant forums, conferences, and networking events.Reporting :
Prepare and present weekly, quarterly, and annual sales and performance reports.Track key metrics such as tender success rate, sales growth, margin improvement, and distributor performance.Regularly share insights on market trends, customer feedback, and business development initiatives.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Business Management.Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical tender sales & institutional business within the hospital or healthcare segment.Proven experience in distributor management and government / hospital tendering processes.Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
