Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7 service
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers, including server upgrades, configurations, and maintenance tasks. Provide L1,L2,L3 level server support similar to current team
- Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 6,7,and 8. Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks(Ansible, Bash)
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
- Provide weekend support on scheduled weekend changes
- Provide on-call support during off hours if needed
- Participate in Disaster Recovery and BCP drills
- Manage Physical server infrastructure using remote access
- Manage and maintain virtual machines in internal ESX farm as well as in AWS
- Build new physical and virtual servers as per standards
- Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Knowledge on servers installed with cluster software and databases.
Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related fieldAt least 7 years of practical experience in Red Hat Linux system administrationExtensive knowledge and proficiency in Kubernetes platforms, VMWare, SAN management, and related conceptsStrong understanding and proven familiarity with RHEL versions 7, 8, and 9Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skillsAbility to work independently, demonstrate attention to detail, and drive results; self-motivated and proactive attitude; team-orientedFluency in both spoken and written EnglishHolding relevant certifications or licenses such as RHCE and VCPSkills Required
