Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and strategically focused Vice President (VP) - Electronic Trading Risk & Control Manager to join our Investment Banking team. This is a senior role requiring deep expertise in electronic and algorithmic trading risk management combined with exceptional stakeholder engagement. The VP will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our global risk and control framework across the entire algorithm lifecycle and electronic trading platforms, ensuring compliance with critical global regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Electronic Trading Risk and Control :
- Oversee and rigorously enhance controls across the entire algorithm lifecycle, including automated controls, and critical electronic trading platforms (OMS, EMS, D2C).
- Design and implement sophisticated tools to monitor trading risks and systematically perform pre- and post-trade control testing to validate efficacy.
- Maintain a comprehensive algo inventory and actively support various regulatory remediation projects related to electronic trading systems.
Governance, Compliance, and Regulatory Response :
Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management of all electronic and algorithmic trading activities across global markets.Lead the response to material risk issues, internal reviews, and detailed regulatory inquiries from bodies governing frameworks such as MiFID II, MAR, SEC 15(c), SS518, and others.Apply deep knowledge of risk & control frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements within the financial sector.Stakeholder Management and Strategic Enhancement :
Collaborate effectively with business heads and risk managers to strategically strengthen operating models and successfully deliver complex transformation initiatives.Utilize excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive consensus and execute control improvements across cross-functional Experience : Strong background in electronic trading / algo trading risk management within an investment bank or a top-tier financial consultancy firm.Education : Mandatory degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a closely related quantitative field.Risk & Governance : Deep knowledge of risk & control frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements (MiFID II, MAR, SEC, etc.).Systems Familiarity : Mandatory familiarity with electronic trading systems, specifically OMS (Order Management Systems), EMS (Execution Management Systems), and D2C (Dealer-to-Client) platforms.Products : Familiarity with traded financial products, particularly fixed income and currencies.Preferred Skills :
Technical Skills : Proficiency in SQL for complex data queries and ideally Python for data analysis, automation, and prototyping risk monitoring tools.Certification in risk management (e.g., FRM, PRM) is a plus.Experience with cloud-based electronic trading infrastructure and associated risk controls.(ref : iimjobs.com)
