Position Overview :
The IT Product Manager- Retail will be responsible for driving the development, enhancement, and optimization of technology products and platforms that support retail operations—both online and offline. This role will bridge business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that digital products such as POS systems, ERP, CRM, e-commerce platforms, and mobile applications deliver superior efficiency, customer experience, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Product Strategy & Planning
- Define product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with retail business goals.
- Identify technology opportunities to enhance store operations, customer engagement, and supply chain efficiency.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to anticipate trends in retail technology and customer behavior.
2. Product Development & Execution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Retail Operations, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) to gather business requirements.Translate requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and feature enhancements.Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle—from concept to rollout, testing, and continuous improvement.Ensure product quality, scalability, and integration with existing retail systems (ERP, POS, CRM, etc.).3. Technology Implementation & Integration
Manage IT vendors, software partners, and implementation consultants for timely delivery.Work closely with development teams (internal or external) to ensure solutions meet user expectations and business KPIs.Drive integration across e-commerce, stores, and backend systems for unified data flow and customer experience.4. Stakeholder Management & Communication
Act as the bridge between business users and technology teams.Present product updates, dashboards, and ROI reports to leadership.Gather feedback from store teams, customers, and end-users to refine solutions.5. Data, Security & Compliance
Ensure product compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and retail IT standards.Collaborate with MIS and Analytics teams for data-driven product decisions.Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong understanding of retail processes (POS, store operations, inventory, merchandising, CRM, and e-commerce).Experience managing enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle Retail, LS Central, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).Analytical mind-set with ability to interpret business metrics and customer insights.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering / Business Administration (MBA preferred).5–10 years of experience in IT Product Management, with at least 5 years in the retail or e-commerce sector.Proven track record of implementing retail tech solutions—POS, ERP, CRM, loyalty systems, or Omni channel platforms.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Timely delivery of IT product rollouts and upgrades.System uptime and performance efficiency.User adoption rates and satisfaction scores.ROI from digital and IT product initiatives.Reduction in operational or process inefficiencies.
