Help MARS expand into skincare with evidence-backed, high-performing products tailored to Indian consumers and climates. You’ll turn consumer problems + science into clear product briefs, claims, and go-to-market learnings.
What you’ll own
- Map whitespace : analyze trends, competitor SKUs, reviews, derm / consumer insights; size opportunities and recommend a focused roadmap.
- Write product briefs : target user, problem, claim set, hero actives, benchmark formulas, test plan, and success metrics.
- Partner with R&D : translate briefs into lab-ready guardrails (pH, sensorial, allergens, INCI boundaries, cost targets).
- Evidence & claims : compile literature, design claim-substantiation / consumer-use tests, and maintain traceable dossiers.
- Ingredient strategy : evaluate actives (efficacy, stability, compatibility, safety, regulatory), shortlist vendors, and negotiate samples.
- Launch learning loop : structure pilots, A / Bs, and post-launch dashboards; recommend fast iterations.
You have
3–8 years in skincare product development, cosmetic science, clinical / claims, derm-education, or content with deep technical rigor.Mastery of INCI, actives (e.g., retinoids, niacinamide, HA, peptides, exfoliants, sunscreens), stability basics, and compatibility.Strong first-principles + data mindset; can read papers, separate hype from evidence, and make crisp build / kill decisions.Understanding of Indian skin / hair behaviors, climates, and regulatory context (BIS / Drugs & Cosmetics Rules) for OTC cosmetics.Clear writing : can turn complex science into 1-page briefs and consumer-friendly claims.Collaboration with chemists, packaging, QA, supply, and marketing.Nice to have
Experience setting up claim tests / consumer panels; basic statistics for significance.Network of raw-material suppliers and labs; exposure to GMP / ISO environments.Portfolio of shipped skincare SKUs or technical content with measurable outcomes.Success in 6 months looks like
1–2 hero product lines green-lit with signed briefs, validated prototypes, and claim plans.Ingredient / vendor matrices with cost-to-performance trade-offs and preferred partners.A repeatable concept-to-launch playbook tailored for MARS.How to apply
