Role Overview :
The Corporate Relations Head will lead the national placements and employer partnerships agenda for upGrad Learning Centres. The role demands building a predictable pipeline of hiring opportunities across Tier-1 corporates, GCCs, startups, and regional SMEs, while ensuring alignment with learner readiness. The mandate is not only to acquire employers but to ensure sustained placement outcomes through a hub-and-spoke model across 32 cities.
Key Partnerships & Onboarding
- Own national corporate relations strategy across Data Science, Full Stack Development, Investment Banking & Operations, Cyber Security, DS for Stock Market, and Prompt Engineering programs.
- Build anchor relationships with GCCs, MNCs, BFSI captives, IT services, product companies, and regional SMEs.
- Drive employer onboarding funnel : awareness trial (webinars, hackathons, internships) structured hiring agreement.
- Create a mix of national accounts (Infosys, Goldman, Zerodha, etc.) and regional SME consortiums to balance placement volumes.
Placement Outcomes
Deliver hiring pipelines aligned to hub cities and spokes across zones (West, South, North, Central).Collaborate with Zonal Managers and Hub Leads to ensure placement drives, internship tie-ups, and SME onboarding.Monitor placement readiness calendar in partnership with training teams resume workshops, interview drills, capstone showcases.Set targets and track : % placement within 90 days, employer satisfaction score, repeat hiring from corporates.Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement
Feed live job description insights and emerging skill demands back into the program curriculum.Conduct quarterly employer roundtables and webinars to position upGrad as a talent partner.Build visibility at industry forums (NASSCOM, ISACA, CFA Society, BFSI councils, NSE / BSE, local chambers).Team Leadership
Lead a distributed team of ~3538 (National team, Zonal Managers, Hub Leads, Readiness Coordinators).Build playbooks for job sourcing, SME onboarding, and employer engagement in Tier-2 / 3 cities.Drive performance discipline through metrics : new corporates onboarded, interviews facilitated, placements achieved.(ref : iimjobs.com)
