Job Description

(Major Responsibilities)

• Manage SQL Server instances, including installation, configuration, patching, database creation, backups and restores
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of database servers
• Monitor SQL Server health and performance using tools different Performance Monitor, Extended Events, DMVs
• Expert in designing SQL Servers indexes, Statistics and perform database maintenance tasks
• Expert in Database Recovery Process
• Expert in troubleshooting SQL Servers errors and, blocking, deadlocks, slow performance, high resource utilization, network and storage issues
• Expert in analyzing the Execution Plans, and refactoring the queries to optimize for high performance
• Expert in plan and implement database capacity upgrades, scaling and migration to meet growing business needs
• Manage user access, permissions and roles, implement Audit process and compliances as per the requirements
• Review Database code of SQL Server Developers and guide them for query tuning optimization

(Requirement)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 9 years of experience in MS SQL Server Database administration
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, internals, and performance tuning techniques
• Strong T-SQL Skills for query optimizations and performance
• Experience with at least SQL Server versions from SQL Server 2022 / 2019 / 2016 / 2014
• Strong knowledge of Windows Failover Cluster Server and SQL Server AlwaysOn
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Certification on MS SQL Server Adminsitration

The Successful Applicant

Nice to Have :

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of an additional DBMS product like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc is an advantage
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure will be plus
• Experience in SSIS / SSRS / SSAS will be plus
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell / Python
• Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence
