Role Overview
MIT-WPU is seeking a dynamic and visionary Program Director to lead the Department of Semiconductor Engineering. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academician with strong expertise in semiconductor technologies, demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to build a research-driven, industry-integrated academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Program Leadership
Lead the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of UG and PG programs in Semiconductor Engineering.
Ensure alignment of curriculum with industry trends such as VLSI, Chip Design, Semiconductor Fabrication, Microelectronics, and Packaging Technologies.
Drive outcomes-based education (OBE), academic quality assurance, and accreditation processes (NBA / NAAC).
Implement MIT-WPU’s unique WPU Method and experiential learning framework.
Research, Innovation & Collaboration
Promote high-quality research, publications, patents, and funded projects.
Establish Centres of Excellence, advanced semiconductor labs, and innovation facilities.
Build strong collaborations with semiconductor companies, R&D labs, government bodies, and global institutions.
Guide faculty on research proposals, consultancy projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Administrative & Operational Excellence
Oversee departmental operations including faculty recruitment, workload management, budgeting, and compliance.
Mentor faculty for academic excellence and professional growth.
Support university-level initiatives, academic audits, and strategic planning.
Student Engagement & Development
Enhance student success through internships, live projects, industry lectures, hackathons, and competitions.
Strengthen student placement readiness in semiconductor and allied sectors.
Promote a culture of innovation, ethical learning, and holistic development aligned with MIT-WPU values.
Eligibility Criteria (As Per MIT-WPU Requirements)
Essential Qualifications
PhD in Semiconductor Engineering / VLSI / Microelectronics / Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Master’s and PhD must be in the same domain.
Must be currently working as an Associate Professor with a minimum of 3 years’ experience after PhD in the role.
Strong academic, research, and publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience in semiconductor device physics, chip design (RTL / Physical Design), fabrication, or nanotechnology.
Experience handling funded projects (Government / Industry) and establishing research labs.
Strong industry network, collaboration experience, and consultancy exposure.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
