About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager for our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) division. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and a strong track record in driving business growth through the development of new partnerships, identifying market opportunities, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. You will play a critical role in expanding our API business, bringing new clients on board, and contributing to the company's strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities :
- Business Development & Strategy :
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the API sector.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand the company’s API portfolio and market share.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Lead negotiations and manage the commercial terms of API contracts, partnerships, and agreements.
- Client Relationship Management :
- Cultivate strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, CMO / CDMO partners, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Manufacturing, etc.) to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sales & Revenue Growth :
- Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, focusing on both existing and new business.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives related to the API business.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective clients, showcasing API products and services.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting :
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on market conditions, potential leads, and performance metrics.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for business expansion.
- Regulatory and Compliance Awareness :
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices in all business development activities.
- Collaborate with regulatory and quality assurance teams to ensure products meet the required specifications and standards.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or Master’s degree is a plus).3 to 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on APIs.Proven experience in managing complex negotiations and building long-term business relationships.Strong understanding of API market dynamics, regulatory environments, and industry standards.Experience in working with cross-functional teams to drive product development and customer satisfaction.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset.Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of global pharmaceutical markets, including emerging markets.Ability to travel as required for business meetings, conferences, and site visits.
