Digital IT Transformation Head

The Head of Digital IT will lead the digital transformation agenda across VW Group Digital Solutions entities in India, Portugal, and Germany. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the delivery of both custom-built and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) IT solutions, in long-term establishing a robust data lake infrastructure, and embedding AI-enabled applications across all IT functional departments such as HR, Finance, Quality etc.. The leader will be a strategic partner to business and technology leaders, ensuring alignment between digital initiatives and enterprise goals.

Key Responsibilities &Tasks :

• Anchor the execution of a 3-year digital transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide strategic priorities
• Drive enterprise data initiatives including the development and scaling of data lake infrastructure.
• Lead budget management and strategic planning for the Digital IT Team, including oversight of investment allocations.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across India, Germany, and Portugal IT teams to anchor digitalization and tooling strategies from pilot phases to full-scale development and support.
• Establish and lead the implementation of success metrics for Digitalization projects, reporting insights to senior leadership.
• Lead technology initiatives by overseeing the delivery of COTS and custom IT solutions, and championing design thinking and agile methodologies with a product development mindset.
• Drive the strategic adoption of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms (e.g., Workday) and custom-built tools to enhance operational efficiency.
• Drive the embedding of AI-enabled applications across business functions to enhance decision-making and automation.
• Lead the development and maintenance of a robust data lake infrastructure to support enterprise-wide analytics.
• Anchor software engineering practices and enable delivery of Product MVPs in collaboration with Digital Delivery departments
• Establish metrics to evaluate the success of innovation projects and report findings to senior leadership
• Ensure strategic compliance with InfoSec, legal, and regulatory standards across all digital initiatives.
• Lead the development of future-ready IT teams with a focus on emerging digital technologies including AI and Cloud.
• Lead rapid prototyping efforts and anchor application delivery and integration initiatives.
