Description : Role Summary :
Gardens Need Pvt. Ltd., a high-growth brand in the Consumer Products / Agri & Garden segment, is seeking a results-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to take full ownership of the sales and distribution operations across the Jharkhand territory. This role demands a dynamic professional with deep experience in FMCG / Consumer Product distribution, a proven track record of hitting aggressive targets, and expertise in managing complex dealer networks specific to the region.
Key Responsibilities :
The ASM will be fully accountable for driving sales, expanding market reach, and ensuring operational excellence within the Jharkhand territory.
1. Sales & Target Achievement :
- Achieve Primary & Secondary Sales : Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned product portfolio across the entire Jharkhand market.
- Forecasting : Develop accurate sales forecasts and demand plans in collaboration with the Regional Sales Head, ensuring optimal stock levels across the supply chain.
- Revenue Collections : Ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding payments from distributors and dealers, maintaining healthy credit limits.
2. Distribution Network & Market Expansion :
Network Development : Strategically expand the distributor and retailer network in untapped markets within Jharkhand to enhance product visibility and penetration, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.Channel Management : Identify, appoint, and manage distributors and super-stockists, ensuring their operational efficiency, inventory hygiene, and financial stability.Market Coverage : Achieve maximum retail outlet (RO) coverage and drive SKU-wise availability in line with market potential and company objectives.3. Team Leadership & Development :
Recruitment & Training : Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team, including Sales Representatives (SRs) and Territory Sales In-charge (TSIs), dedicated to the Jharkhand region.Performance Management : Monitor and evaluate the daily activities and performance of the sales team, providing consistent coaching, feedback, and necessary training to ensure target achievement.Motivation : Foster a high-energy, competitive, and ethical sales culture within the territory.4. Market Intelligence & Promotions :
Competitive Analysis : Continuously monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product launches in Jharkhand, reporting key insights to management.BTL Activities : Plan and execute effective Below-The-Line (BTL) activities, trade schemes, and promotional campaigns (e.g., dealer meets, visual merchandising) to generate demand and drive offtake.Reporting : Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales figures, market feedback, and expenses through the prescribed reporting systems (e.g., SFA).Candidate Qualifications & Profile :
Experience : 5 to 8 years of successful experience in field sales and distribution management, preferably in an Area Sales Manager capacity.Industry Fit : Mandatory experience within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), Consumer Products, or Agri & Garden segment is required.Education : A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; an MBA in Sales / Marketing is Proven track record in handling distributor sales, primary, secondary, and tertiary targets.Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.Willingness to travel extensively within the Jharkhand territory and specific local market familiarity is highly preferred.(ref : iimjobs.com)
