Product & User Growth Intern

Job descriptionConduct user interviews (20-30 per month) with people who : Send and analyze post-interaction surveys Monitor user behavior in the product (where do they drop off?) Create detailed user personas based on patterns you see Document feature requests, complaints, and praise Competitive analysis : Test competitor products, identify gaps Synthesize findings into actionable product recommendations Follow up with users who expressed purchase intent Coordinate between users and partner insurance advisors Schedule calls / meetings for high-intent leads Track conversion funnel : Interest → Quote → Application → Policy issued Handle basic customer queries (over email / WhatsApp / chat) Document objections and reasons for not buying Maintain CRM / spreadsheet with lead status Calculate actual conversion rates and revenue generated Identify patterns : Who converts vs who doesn't, and why? How to acquire users with zero budget What channels work (and which don't) for B2C fintech How to run growth experiments and measure results How to conduct user research that actually informs product decisions How to identify product-market fit (or lack thereof) How to prioritize features based on user feedback How to close deals in a "push product" category Insurance sales process and objection handling Unit economics : CAC, conversion rates, LTV What it takes to build a company from scratch How to validate ideas before building How founders make decisions with incomplete information Self-starter : You don't need handholding. Give you a goal, you figure out how to achieve it Scrappy : Limited budget means creative solutions. You find ways to get things done Communication skills : You can write cold emails people actually respond to. You can conduct interviews that extract real insights Analytical : You love data. You track everything. You spot patterns Comfortable with ambiguity : Things will change. Priorities will shift. You adapt Hungry : You want to learn startup operations from 0 to 1 Interest in fintech / insurance space Prior experience in sales, growth, or user research Comfortable with tools : Google Sheets, Notion, basic CRM Active on LinkedIn / Twitter / relevant communities Understanding of India's insurance landscape Experience conducting user interviews or customer development You need clear 9-6 structure and defined tasks You avoid talking to strangers You get discouraged by rejection You need constant validation You want a "resume-building" internship with minimal responsibility
About Us
We are reimagining life insurance distribution for India's digital-native professionals. We're building an AI-powered advisory platform that helps people understand their insurance needs without spam calls or pushy sales tactics. We're in early-stage validation and looking for a hustler to help us prove product-market fit.
Role : Product & Growth Intern (Full-time, 3-6 months)
Location : Remote / Hybrid
What You'll Do
This isn't a typical internship. You'll be doing real work that directly impacts whether this company succeeds or fails. You'll wear multiple hats : researcher, growth hacker, and sales coordinator.
1. Lead Generation & User Acquisition (40% of time)
Your goal : Get 500+ qualified users to test our MVP
What this looks like :
- Identify and reach out to target users (tech professionals, 25-40 years, ₹10L+ income)
- Run outreach campaigns on social media platforms
- Coordinate with influencers / content creators for shoutouts
- Partner with fintech communities, startup employee groups
- Run small experimental ad campaigns (Google / Meta / LinkedIn) and optimize
2. User Research & Feedback Collection (30% of time)
Your goal : Understand why people do / don't engage with our product

3. Sales Coordination & Follow-through (30% of time)
Your goal : Help interested users actually buy insurance
