Key responsibilities
- Conduct inspections : Perform and verify inspections of materials, fabrication (like welding and piping), and installation to ensure they meet specifications and codes.
- Verify quality control : Check that quality-related activities are performed according to standards and review contractor's quality control procedures.
- Manage documentation : Ensure all quality-related documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), are reviewed and approved, and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with stakeholders : Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and vendors on all quality-related matters and coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Document non-conformances : Identify and report any deviations or defects from standards, often involving the creation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Attend audits : Participate in both internal and external audits of the quality system.
- Perform receiving inspections : Check that incoming materials meet the required quality standards before they are used.
