Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Category Head - New Business to take complete ownership of a new business and drive its growth from zero to one . The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of brand-building expertise, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision-making to scale the category into a high-impact business vertical.
This is a P&L-owning role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced D2C environment and loves building from scratch.
What You'll Do :
Category Ownership & Strategy
- Define and execute the end-to-end category strategy — product positioning, pricing, and go-to-market plans.
- Lead P&L for the category;
drive revenue, profitability, and market share.
Build & Identify new category opportunities by developing a roadmap to expand the business.Brand Building & Marketing
Own the brand narrative and ensure consistent communication across all consumer touchpoints.Collaborate with creative, digital, and performance marketing teams to drive awareness and consideration.Partner with product and R&D teams to create differentiated offerings aligned with brand promise.Growth & Business Management
Drive sales planning, forecasting, and inventory management to achieve business goals.Leverage data and insights to make informed decisions on category health, customer behavior, and market trends.Work cross-functionally with eCommerce, retail, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution.What You Bring to the Table :
7 to 9 years of experience in brand management within D2C, FMCG, or consumer product companiesShould have been a people managerIt would be great if you would have worked on a brand or category from scratch — ideally in a startup or high-growth environment.Deep understanding of consumer behavior , brand positioning , and go-to-market strategy .Strong business acumen with a data-driven and entrepreneurial mindset .Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
