Job description15+ years of experience designing and delivering software, using modern engineering tools and practices including test-driven development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and DevSecOps practices with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience. Including : 6+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams and managing managers Direct leadership involvement in transforming engineering ways of working and modernizing legacy applications Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and larger audiences across all levels of the company. Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills Proactive and dynamic - able to identify and resolve issues quickly Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in parallel Capable of influencing a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the company Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment and / or large enterprise. This position is based in Bengaluru. Best Buy™ India operates under a hybrid work model (in office / remote) with an expectation for employees to be in the office three days a week – Generally, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a global organization, maintaining collaboration across the globe is a key proposition. Within the framework of established guidelines, employees may be required to engage in extended hours during critical periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with engineering leaders in both Best Buy US and India to define and evolve the engineering tooling strategy to support modern software development practices.
- Help establish and grow a center of excellence focused on improving how works gets done through engineering tooling, standards, and practices to drive consistency, innovation, and operational excellence across global teams.
- Develop and implement strategies for engineering talent mobility, creating pathways for skill growth, role transitions, and leadership development across geographies and domains.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering standards and practices in both Best Buy US and India, ensuring teams are trained, equipped, and supported through change management, enablement programs, and ongoing coaching.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of tools and practices in improving developer productivity, software quality, and team agility, using both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and bring forward new technologies and methods that improve the developer experience and software delivery performance.
- Work in partnership with the US and BBY India Engineering, Product Management, Experience Design (XD) leads, and the BBY India hub leader.
