About The Role

The Process Specialist Data Senior SME at BP Energy plays a pivotal role within the Customers & Products business area, supporting the company&aposs transition into a coordinated energy enterprise. Based in Pune, India, this role is integral to establishing and maintaining the Castrol Data Ecosystem, ensuring it aligns with strategic digital transformation goals. The successful candidate will lead the design, governance, and continuous improvement of data systems across all major ERPs, source systems, and digital platforms. Acting as a domain expert, product owner, or scrum master, this position requires a proactive approach to data integration, quality, and security, enabling BP Energy to leverage data-driven insights for operational excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

Educational background in an analytical or engineering field is essential, with a preference for candidates holding a degree in engineering, data science, or related disciplines. Candidates should possess over 10 years of relevant experience in delivering data strategies and executing ETL transformations within major ERP and business transformation programs. Deep expertise in data modeling, lineage, normalization, harmonization, and process design is required. Proficiency in translating complex data into actionable insights using tools like Power BI is vital. Strong communication skills are necessary to craft compelling data narratives and influence stakeholders at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and lifecycle management of the Castrol Data Ecosystem, ensuring its sustainability, scalability, and adherence to data management frameworks and standards.
• Supervise governance processes related to data quality, pipelining, compliance, and security across all systems and platforms, maintaining data integrity and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address strategic data challenges in digital, management information, and analytics domains, fostering alignment across business units and external partners.
• Lead data integration initiatives, ensuring internal and third-party data sources conform to Castrol Data Fabric standards and support digital capabilities like predictive analytics, AI, and decision intelligence.
• Work closely with peers and support multi-disciplinary teams across different time zones, leading initiatives that require diverse expertise and perspectives.
• Apply innovative solutioning approaches to scale global data strategies to local contexts, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Recommend and implement data architecture strategies, continuous improvement opportunities, and capability enhancements to support digital operational excellence.
