Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the Failure analysis through various stages of product development like RFQàDesignàDevelopmentàProtoàValidationàSOPà SOP+90 days
- Through understanding of FMEA concept like “B-Diagram”, “P-Diagram”, Interface-matrix”, “Failure modes” and “Risk-analysis”,” Rating table”.
- Understand the Customer Specific Requirements / Inputs and capture the failure modes in FMEA and track them to closure till implementation.
- Requirement analysis capturing the “Input”, “Output”, “Function”, “Function Requirements”, Control Factors”, “Non-Function Requirements”
- Good Understanding of Lessons learned / Past trouble database / warranty issues and its implementation from Design stage to Validation
- Document failures and ensure closure via design updates, validations, CAE, etc.
- Facilitate DFMEA and PFMEA sessions and ensure the DFMEA, PFMEA linkage establishment.
- Identify unique and mitigate new failure modes along with the SC- CC
- Understanding of Design Changes, Engineering Drawings, EBOM, PFMEA.
- Audit FMEA practices for consistency
- Ensure timely FMEA documentation
- Conduct FMEA training sessions and mentor teams on FMEA practices
- Analyze FMEA results to find high-risk areas
- Monitor effectiveness of risk actions
- Manage FMEA software (e.g., APISIQ)
- Improve FMEA processes and tools
- Benchmark industry best practices
- Strong knowledge of FMEA types like DFMEA and PFMEA aligning with FMEA methods (AIAG-VDA
- Understands how to use FMEA tools and rating systems.
- Experienced with FMEA software like APIS IQ.
- Knows quality standards like IATF 16949.
- Understands past problems and how to avoid them
- Good at finding failure modes and suggesting solutions.
- Can lead team discussions and workshops.
- Communicates clearly in writing and speaking.
