Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the QC team : Provide guidance, assign tasks, and supervise the work of QC technicians and chemists.
- Oversee testing and analysis : Ensure routine and complex tests are performed correctly on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Maintain quality standards : Ensure all products and processes comply with established internal, industry, and governmental standards, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Manage documentation and reporting : Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests and analysis, generate reports, and review batch records.
- Handle equipment : Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper functioning of laboratory instruments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues : Investigate deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and other quality-related problems, implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure safety and compliance : Uphold safety protocols in the lab and ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
- Make final decisions : Exercise judgment to make final pass / reject decisions on ingredient and product batches based on test results and sensory evaluation.
