Job Purpose / Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Level 2 Windows Image Engineer to support Windows OS deployment, image management, and automation tasks within a large enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in SCCM / MECM, MDT, PowerShell scripting, and Windows Autopilot , with a focus on operational efficiency, task automation, and ensuring consistent endpoint provisioning aligned with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support creation, maintenance, and updating of Windows reference images using MDT and SCCM Task Sequences.
- Assist with In-Place Upgrades (IPU) and Windows as a Service (WaaS) rollouts, including troubleshooting.
- Configure and manage Windows Autopilot profiles and resolve provisioning issues.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for deployment and automation tasks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot SCCM / MECM components, including :
- Application and package deployment
- Software Update Groups
- Task sequences for OSD
- Reporting and monitoring deployment status
- Assist in implementing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security and compliance.
- Support provisioning and management of Windows 365 Cloud PCs and associated policy configurations.
- Optimize Microsoft Delivery Optimization and 1E Nomad (or similar tools) for efficient content delivery.
- Perform Office 365 installation and support via SCCM following predefined deployment frameworks.
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), deployment guides, and known issue resolutions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Endpoint Provisioning and Delivery Success Rate : Measures success rate of Windows device provisioning, including imaging (MDT / SCCM), Autopilot, In-Place Upgrades, and Cloud PC delivery, aligned with enterprise standards and timelines.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.Functional Skills / Competencies
7+ years of relevant IT experience, with at least 3 years in a Level 3 engineering role.Proven experience with MDT, SCCM / MECM, and Windows Autopilot.Strong PowerShell scripting skills; experience creating custom desktop tools with GUI.Proficiency in XAML, XML, and other scripting / data formats.Deep understanding of Windows OS internals, services, registries, and performance tuning.Strong knowledge of local GPO for system hardening.Experience with 1E Nomad, Delivery Optimization, or similar content management tools.Hands-on experience with Windows 365 or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a plus.Familiarity with Office 365 deployment and management via SCCM.Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.Behavioral Skills / Competencies
