Corporate Liaisoning Head | Spirit Industry (Customs & Excise Expert)
Job Profile
We are seeking an experienced and well-networked Corporate Liaisoning Head to manage and strengthen our relationships with key government and regulatory bodies, particularly in the areas of Customs, Excise, and Licensing for the spirit industry. This strategic role demands a professional with a deep understanding of the alcohol regulatory ecosystem and proven ability to navigate complex compliance frameworks while representing the company’s interests with integrity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government authorities, including State Excise Departments, Customs, and other regulatory agencies.
- Handle all excise and customs documentation, permits, renewals, and approvals for manufacturing, import, export, and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
- Ensure compliance with central and state excise policies, rules, and notifications.
- Track and analyze regulatory changes impacting the spirit industry; advise management on implications and necessary actions.
- Liaise with industry associations, consultants, and legal advisors to advocate for favorable policies and resolve industry issues.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with excise, customs, and taxation officials.
- Coordinate with internal teams (finance, operations, legal, supply chain) to ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Support in new product registrations, label approvals, and inter-state movement permissions.
Skills and Qualifications
Graduate / Post-Graduate in Law, Commerce, or Public Administration (MBA preferred).10–15 years of experience in liaisoning, excise, and customs compliance within the spirit, brewery, distillery, or FMCG industry.Strong knowledge of state excise laws, import / export procedures, and government liaison protocols.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to handle high-level government interactions with discretion and professionalism.Why Join Us
