Role Overview : Execution Engine
Every visionary needs a counterpart who brings structure to imagination. Jobs had Cook. Elon has Gwynne.
The visionary founder of companies is a relentless creative engine : synthesising impactful solutions to impossibly complex problems and enrolling world-class people into the mission. You’ll be the counterpart who’s an execution engine : turning vision into strategy, roadmaps, objectives, systems, and metrics that scales the company 1000x. Together, you’ll form the partnership that creates civilisational impact.
What You’ll Do
1) Bring Clarity & Focus
Turn the 5-year vision into annual and quarterly objectives.
Ruthlessly prioritise. Eliminate everything but the essential - even beloved ideas of the founder.
Translate objectives into measurable outcomes and ensure crystal clarity and accountability for everyone in the company.
2) Align the People, Continuously
Design a lean org with crystal-clear roles and success metrics
Set weekly and quarterly reviews; keep everyone aligned towards priorities
Ensure priorities remain priorities. Everything else is secondary
3) Use Data to Drive Decisions
Build live dashboards for financial, operational, product, and impact health
Track leading indicators and intervene to keep them on track
4) Solve Problems Fast
Proactively identify and resolve issues that are blocking the achievement of objectives
Resolve communication gaps and blockers between teams
Lead problem-solving sessions that end with decisions, not discussions
5) Build Scalable Systems
Create simple, repeatable systems for execution, tracking, and communication that can scale 1000× without middle-management bloat
Leverage AI, automation and SaaS tools effectively and only where it makes sense. Not out of FOMO
Continuously eliminate roles, objectives, products, features and processes that don’t best serve the mission
6) Own the Numbers (P&L & Shareholder Reporting)
Own the P&L : revenue, margins, cash flow and ratios
Run monthly / quarterly closes with Finance; no surprises
Deliver board / shareholder updates : concise, candid, and insight-rich (progress, risks, decisions needed)
