Key Responsibilities :
VMware vSphere Administration :
- Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere , ESXi hosts , and vCenter Server .
- Monitor and maintain virtual infrastructure, including VM creation , cloning , snapshots , vMotion , and DRS / HA clusters .
- Perform upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management of VMware environments.
- Configure and manage storage (VMFS, NFS, iSCSI) and networking (vSwitches, VLANs) for VMs.
- Implement and maintain backups and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
- Monitor resource utilization and optimize performance.
Unix Systems Administration :
Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat , CentOS , Ubuntu , or other Linux distributions.Manage user accounts , permissions , cron jobs , shell scripting , and system services .Perform patch management , package updates , and system hardening for security compliance.Configure and troubleshoot SSH , Apache / Nginx , DNS , NTP , firewall (iptables / nftables) , and system logs .Work with storage (LVM, NFS, SAN) and backup tools.Automate routine tasks using Bash , Python , or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).Qualifications & Skills :
Essential :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.4+ years of hands-on experience in VMware vSphere administration .3+ years of Unix / Linux systems administration experience.Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills in both virtual and physical server environments.Familiarity with backup / restore , high availability , and disaster recovery concepts.Desirable :
VMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV ).Red Hat Certified System Administrator ( RHCSA ) or equivalent.Experience with Ansible , Terraform , or other automation tools .Familiarity with cloud integration (e.g., VMware Cloud, AWS EC2) or hybrid environments.Skills Required
