Teamware Solutions is seeking a proficient Unix / Linux Administrator with a strong foundation in Red Hat Linux to manage and maintain our server infrastructure. You'll be crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our Linux-based systems, supporting critical applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform essential Unix / Linux administration tasks , including system installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Manage user accounts, file systems, permissions, and disk space efficiently.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and ensure high availability of servers.
- Implement and manage basic networking configurations, including firewall rules and routing.
- Conduct regular system backups and assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Write and maintain shell scripts for automation of routine administrative tasks.
- Troubleshoot system-level issues, analyze logs, and resolve errors promptly.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Unix / Linux Administrator or in a similar system support role.Skills Required :
Strong understanding of Unix / Linux basics and core commands (e.g., file system navigation, process management, user administration, networking commands).Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including installation, configuration, and package management (RPM, YUM / DNF).Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, KornShell) for automation and task execution.Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP) within a Linux environment.Experience with system monitoring tools and log analysis.Basic understanding of Linux security concepts (e.g., SELinux, firewalld).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills for operating system issues.Preferred Skills :
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Linux instances thereinSkills Required
