Innovation and Patent Engineer - Advanced Technologies & Research Department - Research & Development Business Unit - Pune

• Invention Disclosure & Analysis : Work closely with inventors to capture and document new inventions. Conduct thorough technical and legal analysis of invention disclosures to assess patentability.
• Prior Art Search & Analysis : Perform comprehensive prior art searches using various patent and non-patent databases to determine the novelty and non-obviousness of inventions.
• Patent Drafting & Prosecution : Draft high-quality patent applications, including detailed specifications, claims, and drawings. Assist in the prosecution of patent applications by preparing responses to office actions from patent offices worldwide.
• IP Portfolio Management : Contribute to the strategic management of the company's patent portfolio. Monitor competitor IP activities and provide insights to guide our IP strategy.
• Technical & Legal Support : Provide technical support to our legal team during patent litigation or licensing negotiations.
• Training & Education : Educate and train engineers and researchers on best practices for invention disclosure and IP awareness.
• Patent Law Knowledge : A solid understanding of patent laws and procedures in key jurisdictions (e.g., USPTO, EPO, WIPO).
• Analytical Skills : Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical concepts in legal documents.
• Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all work.
• Technical Expertise : A bachelor's or master's degree in (Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering).
• Software Proficiency : Experience with patent search and management software is a plus.
• Experience : 5-8 years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and prior art searching within a corporate IP department or law firm.
