Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled 4G / 5G Cellular Certification Testing Engineer with experience in both manual and automation testing for cellular protocols, along with hands-on expertise in certification processes such as PTCRB, GCF, FCC , and carrier certifications (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile). The candidate will be responsible for leading device testing, automation framework development, and managing end-to-end certification cycles.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform manual and automated testing of 4G / 5G protocol, RF, and application-level functionalities.
- Lead and execute certification testing processes including PTCRB, GCF, FCC , and carrier certifications (AT&T, Verizon, TMO, etc.).
- Design and implement automation test scripts and frameworks for cellular device testing (using Python or other scripting languages).
- Conduct regression, stability, IOT (Interoperability Testing), and field testing using test tools and automation setups.
- Debug and analyze logs using QXDM, QCAT, QTRACE, Wireshark , and similar tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, certification labs, and carrier teams to address and resolve test issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation for test plans, test cases, defect logs, and certification reports.
- Stay up to date with the latest 3GPP standards , carrier requirements, and certification processes.
Required Skills & Experience :
4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in 4G / 5G mobile device testing and certification.Experience with PTCRB, GCF, FCC , and at least one US carrier certification process .Strong understanding of LTE, LTE-A, 5G NR (NSA / SA), VoLTE, VoNR technologies.Proficiency in using test tools such as Anritsu, Keysight, R&S, Spirent , etc.Experience with automation testing frameworks and scripting languages (preferably Python , but Shell, Perl, or JavaScript also valued).Hands-on experience with log analysis tools ( QXDM, QCAT, etc. ) and debugging protocol / RF issues.Good understanding of 3GPP protocol stack , network signaling, and call flows.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with major chipset vendors (Qualcomm, MediaTek, etc.).Prior work on test automation frameworks for embedded / mobile device testing.Knowledge of test case management tools and CI / CD tools (Jenkins, Git)
