Job description
  • Role Purpose : The role will lead the global team of Finance & Accounting professional, supporting all the regions & will be required to establish effective process controls, gain productivity and transform the process.
  • Designation : Assistant General Manager – Forwarding Finance – Global Service Centre

    Base Location : Navi Mumbai

    Reporting to : Deputy General Manager - Forwarding Finance – Global Service Centre

    Key Role Responsibilities :

    • Manage GFF Operations & Operational Excellence
    • Fully understand the Freight Forwarding Finance setup, operational scope, regions being supported
    • Fully understand the underlying digital solution
    • Operations Delivery

    • Daily operations delivery
    • Service delivery for all the activities migrated to GSC
    • Meeting all the KPIs & SLAs defined
    • Regular review of volumes, capacity & headcount
    • Stakeholder Connect

    • Drive CSAT with all regions.
    • Regular engagement (weekly, monthly & quarterly) with stakeholders across regions
    • Participate in all regional service delivery workshops and meetings
    • People Leadership

    • Engagement amongst the team on the floor
    • Regular performance reviews, 1 : 1 discussions and skip level meetings.
    • Developing and retaining talent
    • Succession planning
    • Process Maturity & Operational Excellence

    • Drive process maturity within the team.
    • drive ops excellence initiatives within the team.
    • Identify automation, process standardization, & improvement opportunities.
    • Operations governance, process controls, & performance management.
    • Performance management reporting and dashboards :
    • Drive Global Governance

    • Prepare global reports and dashboards and share them with the regions as per the performance management timelines.
    • Provide reports and dashboards for regions as and when needed.
    • Education, Qualifications & Experience :

      Ideally a qualified Chartered Accountant with 15 years of strong experience in a global organization, including at least 10 years in a finance function

    • Experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry is an added advantage
    • Strong understanding of performance management systems, processes, and best practices
    • Skills :

    • Strong communication skills – The candidate should be an exceptional listener with the ability to communicate clearly. He / she should be able to write exceptionally well and speak eloquently. The candidate must be able to explain complex information to various audiences and be comfortable communicating via phone or in front of groups at all levels. He / she should demonstrate tact and diplomacy when delivering facts.
    • Problem solving – The candidate should enjoy solving problems and getting to the root cause. He / she should have a passion for tackling difficult challenges and finding creative, innovative solutions. The candidate should not get flustered easily and should be proactive in researching and finding answers when needed.
    • Detail-oriented – A strong attention to detail is essential. The candidate should consider that anything worth doing is worth doing right, every time. He / she should remain focused and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
    • Exceptional critical thinking skills – The candidate should be able to identify gaps in logic and underlying causes of issues. He / she must think on their feet and enjoy learning new things, with the ability to do so quickly and effectively.
    • Strong collaborator – The candidate should be capable of working independently with limited direction while also enjoying collaboration across dynamic, multicultural teams. He / she should be personable, helpful, and exceptionally organized.
    • Results-oriented – The candidate should be proactive in managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and fulfilling commitments. A positive, “can-do” attitude is essential.
    • Confidentiality – The candidate should always consider and protect the confidentiality of company data.
    • IT skills – The candidate should be highly proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
    • Flexibility to travel – The candidate should be willing to travel up to 10% of the time globally for project-specific requirements (if applicable).
    • Languages – Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Additional language skills are a bonus.
