Position : Environmental & Regulatory Manager

About the Role
The Environmental & Regulatory Manager will be responsible for ensuring adherence to environmental permits, EHSS regulations, and sustainability goals for GH2 / GNH3 facilities.
Responsibilities
- Environmental Compliance & Management
- Ensure adherence to environmental permits, EHSS regulations, and sustainability goals for GH2 / GNH3 facilities.
- Conduct environmental monitoring, risk assessments, life-cycle analyses, and impact studies.
- Develop and implement waste management, emission control, effluent treatment, and carbon reduction strategies.
- Prepare reports for submission to environmental authorities and manage audits / inspections.
- Lead ISO 14001 / 45001 implementation and continual improvement programs.
Regulatory Affairs & Policy Engagement
Track, analyze, and interpret evolving policies, standards, and incentive mechanisms for hydrogen and ammonia.Support project teams in securing statutory approvals, permits, and clearances from relevant authorities.Develop regulatory compliance roadmaps and ensure timely submissions / documentation.Represent the company in regulatory consultations, policy forums, and industry working groups.Advise management on opportunities arising from subsidies, carbon credits, and certification schemes (e.g., CertifHy, IPHE, BIS standards).Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with engineering, operations, legal, and commercial teams to integrate environmental and regulatory requirements across the project lifecycle.Provide inputs on design and operational practices to ensure environmental sustainability and regulatory alignment.Champion hydrogen / ammonia safety culture by ensuring HAZOP / HAZID and PSM practices are integrated with regulatory frameworks.Qualifications
Bachelor’s / master’s in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Law, Public Policy, or related discipline.6–10 years of experience in environmental management and regulatory affairs in hydrogen, ammonia, fertilizers, or process industries.Strong knowledge of Indian and international environmental regulations, HSE standards, and hydrogen / ammonia-specific guidelines (ISO / TC 197, ISO 14687, BIS).Familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and emission mitigation technologies.Experience in regulatory compliance, permitting processes, and policy advocacy.Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.Required Skills
