Title : Group Head Detail Engineering
Location : Pune (responsible for Engineering function at PT Thermax International Indonesia)
Role & Responsibilities :
- Oversee Engineering activities for Project & Product orders for PT Thermax International Indonesia.
- Provide leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with lead engineers / designers, draftsmen (with India & Indonesia Team) to ensure timely Engineering delivery on schedule and meeting quality requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Proposals, Sales, Manufacturing, Materials, Construction, and Commissioning to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- This includes active coordination with the Indonesia plant engineering team to ensure alignment and smooth project execution across geographies.
- Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance to the team, resolving complex engineering challenges and making informed decisions based on industry best practices.
- Identify and work on opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement across the engineering function.
- Drive standardization and cross-border knowledge sharing to align engineering practices between Pune HQ and Indonesia operations.
- Possess hands-on expertise in software such as CAD / AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D software is an added advantage.
- Possess hands-on expertise in ERP and PLM systems.
- Thoroughly review customer specifications, engage with customers to clarify queries, and address deviations to ensure accurate project understanding.
- Demonstrate proficiency in selecting Boiler System accessories like Pumps, Fans, Valves, Instruments, Burners, Gas Trains, PCE, Fuel / Ash handling, Refractory, different types of Combustors / Grates, Castings etc.
- Perform sizing calculations for biomass-fired, fossil fuel-fired, oil and gas-fired steam boilers and thermic fluid heaters, ensuring optimal capacity and efficiency.
- Apply expertise in selecting appropriate design (construction, materials, welding details, manufacturing tolerance) in adherence to international standards (IS, ASME, BS, EN) & National standards (IBR, IS) for both pressure and non-pressure components.
- Review and develop accurate P&ID diagrams, Process Flow diagrams, General Arrangement drawings, and Block Layouts that illustrate equipment arrangement and system connectivity.
- Drive the standardization & automation of boiler variants, aiming to reduce engineering operating costs.
- Ensure statutory compliance such as ISO, ASME, and IMS, and ensure the team carries out stipulated activities for recertification audits.
