We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Incharge to lead the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role demands a highly skilled professional with a strong clinical background and leadership abilities, responsible for the overall functioning, safety, and quality of care within the unit. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to the highest standards of nursing practice and a compassionate environment for our most vulnerable patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Unit Management : Oversee the day-to-day operations of the NICU, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Clinical Standards : Uphold and enforce all Nursing clinical standards , policies, and procedures.
- Patient Care : Ensure all patient needs are met with a focus on comfort and safety. This includes completing the Nursing Assessment Guide within 15-30 minutes of admission and implementing safety measures for vulnerable patients.
- Team Leadership : Efficiently deploy and manage nursing staff based on the Patient-Nurse ratio , escalating any shortages as needed.
- Emergency Response : Demonstrate the capability for quick and accurate decision-making during emergencies.
- Documentation : Maintain meticulous medical and nursing records as per protocol.
- Medication Management : Strictly adhere to the Drug Administration Policy . This involves monitoring pharmacy indents, ensuring medication safety, and confirming that the administration of dangerous medicines is counter-checked by a second nurse .
- Infection Control : Monitor and ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols for personnel, patients, and the environment. This includes educating parents on proper hand-washing and attire change.
- Equipment & Inventory : Ensure all medical equipment is serviceable and that drugs and consumables are managed efficiently to prevent wastage .
- Interdepartmental Coordination : Work with doctors on daily rounds, procedures, and investigations. Be a mandatory presence during daily Neonatologist counseling of parents .
- Patient & Visitor Policy : Ensure patient rights are upheld and that the visitor policy is implemented effectively, including briefing visitors on safety and infection control requirements.
- Waste Management : Oversee waste segregation and disposal in accordance with established policies.
Educational Qualifications
A degree or diploma in Nursing is required.Valid State Registration Nursing Council Certificate is mandatory.Required Skills
