Role Overview :
We require a reliable Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) systems to join our capable team. The Quantity Surveyor (MEP) will be responsible for analyzing budgets, preparing MEP quantity take-offs, estimating costs, negotiating with contractors / vendors, and coordinating closely with project managers and site engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to read and analyze MEP drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire-fighting, HVAC, ELV, etc.) and provide valid feedback.
- Preparing and reviewing BOQs, quantity take-offs, and estimates for MEP works.
- General QS responsibilities including but not limited to :
- Rate analysis for various MEP activities with knowledge of industry-standard coefficients.
- Reconciliation of major MEP materials (cables, conduits, ducting, pipes, valves, fixtures, equipment, etc.).
- Cost monitoring and control of MEP services.
- Scrutinizing MEP material and service contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Preparing reports, cost analyses, budgets, and risk assessments for MEP scope.
- Advising managers and clients on value engineering, cost optimization, and alternate solutions.
- Coordinating with consultants, contractors, and vendors for MEP works.
- Site visits for verification of executed quantities and reconciliation of MEP installations.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or related field).Minimum 2–5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP works.Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction standards, and industry practices.Experience in preparation of BOQ, cost estimation, and tendering for MEP services.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.Show more
