Job Description – Quantity Surveyor & Contracts
Position : Quantity Surveyor
Experience : 3–10 Years
Location : Nambiar District 25
Reports To : Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Pre-Contract Stage
- Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, rate analysis, and tender documents.
- Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Assist in budgeting, feasibility studies, and cost planning.
- Prepare vendor / contractor quotation comparison statements.
2. Tendering & Contracts
Support in tender evaluation and negotiations.Prepare draft work orders and subcontract agreements.Assist in contract administration and compliance with contract conditions.3. Post-Contract Stage
Measure executed works and prepare interim payment certificates (RA bills).Monitor project costs and cash flow against budgets.Prepare variation orders (VOs) and claims under guidance.Maintain subcontractor accounts and reconciliation records.4. Project Coordination
Coordinate with site teams, engineers, architects, and contractors for accurate billing and measurements.Support procurement team with updated cost data.Provide regular cost and progress updates to management.5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain cost control sheets, MIS reports, and budget variance reports.Support in preparation of final accounts and audits.Ensure documentation of drawings, approvals, and measurement sheets.Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of measurement, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis.Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Excel, and QS softwareUnderstanding of contracts (FIDIC / local standards).Analytical and detail-oriented with good negotiation skills.Strong communication and coordination skills.Qualifications
B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with QS specialization.Certification in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management (preferred).Show more
