Job Summary :

The R&D Chemist will be responsible for developing, formulating, and improving cosmetic and personal care products such as skin care, hair care, and body care formulations. The role involves hands-on formulation work, stability testing, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative, safe, and effective products to market.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop new formulations for skincare, haircare, and personal care products as per project briefs.

Conduct reformulation and cost optimization of existing products.

Evaluate raw materials and active ingredients for suitability and efficacy.

Prepare laboratory batches and maintain accurate formulation records.

Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing.

Ensure formulations comply with regulatory and safety guidelines.

Coordinate with procurement, quality, and production teams for pilot and scale-up batches.

Maintain technical documentation, formulation data sheets, and COA / COA references.

Stay updated with cosmetic trends, new ingredients, and market innovations.

Troubleshoot formulation and production issues as needed.

Qualifications & Experience :

Education : B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry, B-tech / M-tech Cosmetic Science, or related field.

Experience :

1–2 years of experience

in cosmetic or personal care product formulation.

Knowledge :

Strong understanding of cosmetic ingredients, emulsions, surfactants, preservatives, actives, etc.

Familiarity with GMP, ISO, and regulatory standards (FDA, BIS, etc.).

Practical lab skills and ability to work independently.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Creativity and curiosity for innovation in beauty & personal care.

Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
