Position Overview :

We are looking for an experienced

Polymer Scientist / Organic Chemist . The ideal candidate will have expertise in the synthesis, characterization, and functionalization / derivatization of polymers, polysaccharides, and polyamines. The role requires proficiency in oxidation, etherification, esterification, crosslinking, and the formation of hydrogels and aerogels. You will work independently on projects, optimizing processes, troubleshooting complex issues, and applying cost-effective downstream processing methods. The ability to think critically and innovate in the development of new materials is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

• Synthesize and modify polymers, polysaccharides, and polyamides using advanced and green chemical processes such as oxidation, etherification, esterification, crosslinking, hydrophobization)
• Develop and optimize hydrogels, aerogels, and other polymeric structures for various applications.
• Characterize materials through chemical, mechanical, and thermal analyses using techniques such as FTIR, NMR, DSC, TGA, SEM, HPLC, Viscometer etc.
• Design and implement strategies for the functionalization of polymers to achieve desired properties (e.g., transparency, opacity, viscosity, hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity, ).
• Apply innovative, cost-effective downstream processing methods to ensure scalable manufacturing processes.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts to solve technical challenges related to material synthesis, processing, and performance.
• Work independently and collaboratively to move projects forward while ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines.
• Maintain a high standard of lab safety, documentation, and data management.
