The Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in applying systems engineering principles to improve the design, integration, and operation of critical water and wastewater infrastructure.

This is not an IT role—it’s a hands-on engineering opportunity where structured systems thinking helps optimise performance, improve project delivery, and enhance the long-term efficiency of essential infrastructure.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you’ll define system requirements, develop architectures, and implement innovative solutions that ensure projects meet business objectives, community needs, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply structured systems engineering methodologies to optimise project design, integration, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and refine engineering processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance delivery timelines.
• Utilise data analytics and modelling tools to inform design decisions and optimise asset performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety in design and engineering frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
