Job Description : Territory Sales Lead (TSL)

This role is for a Territory Sales Lead (TSL) with proven experience in Agriculture (Agri) Sales and Marketing , specifically within the agriculture or seed-based industry . The TSL will be responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration within an assigned territory and will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) .
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and Business Development
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets for agricultural products (e.g., seeds, crop protection, fertilizers) within the designated territory.
- Develop and execute a territory business plan to identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities, focusing on high-potential farmers, dealers, and distributors.
- Manage the complete sales cycle , including prospecting, product demonstration, negotiation, and closing sales.
- Regularly visit farms, dealers, and distribution channels to maintain strong relationships and gather market intelligence .
2. Dealer and Channel Management
Appoint, train, and manage the performance of dealers / distributors to ensure adequate product availability and market coverage.Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing, and credit terms by all channel partners.Conduct product training sessions for dealer staff and retail counter personnel.3. Marketing and Promotion
Organize and execute field days, farmer meetings, and product demonstrations to promote new products and increase brand awareness .Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and Marketing team to implement promotional schemes and campaigns effectively at the ground level.Collect feedback on product performance and market needs to inform future marketing and R&D strategies .4. Reporting and Administration
Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, pipeline, and customer data using the company's CRM system.Prepare and submit regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and expense reports to the Regional Sales Manager.Monitor competitor activities and market trends, providing timely updates to the management team.Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive sales experience in Agri-sales or Ag-marketing, with a focus on seeds, crop protection, or agricultural inputs.Proven experience as a Territory Sales Lead / Officer / Executive is essential.Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of agronomy, local cropping patterns, and farming practices .Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills .Results-oriented with a strong drive to meet and exceed targets.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a large territory.Proficiency in local language(s) and working knowledge of English.Willingness to undertake extensive travel within the assigned territory.Reporting Structure
The Territory Sales Lead reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) .
